Henry Whitter

Henry Whitter, a Virginia textile worker, traveled to New York uninvited in March 1923, and recorded lonesome road blues and >the wreck on the southern old 97< for Okeh Records.

Many people were inspired to become performers because they were convinced they could do a better job than Whitter.

He later made some important recordings with the blind fiddler G.B.Grayson for the Victor Company.

Also with Kelly Harrell.
